ABOUT THE PROJECT
Although completely landlocked, Paris can be considered the surfing capital of France. With the 2024 Olympic Games still fresh in everyone’s minds, the plan is to establish a foothold in the market in time to ride the wave of a successful launch—and to make this still-new Olympic sport even more attractive and accessible to Parisians.
The surf facility, the adjacent bar, and the surf shop will be integrated into the high-density residential areas of Parc de la Villette. Our goal is to create an active, safe, adventurous, authentic, progressive, and environmentally friendly urban playground. With a mix of modern materials and wooden design elements, CityWave.Paris aims to bring a touch of “Aloha” to the City of Light.
Given that approximately 70% of surf park visitors are extremely or fairly likely to stay overnight on-site when vacationing at a surf park (Surf Park Central 2023 study), we will not only include a partnership with Accor for JO&JOE (a hybrid of hotel and hostel) in the offering, but also a coworking space and an event space via WOJO.
